Abstract

A short paper charting the development and progress of the LTHT Community of Practice, from conception to working structure and public activities illustrating how students have been welcomed into an exploratory inter-disciplinary academic group. In particular a recent participatory event, Ropery Songs held at Historic Chatham Dockyard supported by UAL Enquiry and Innovation fund and UAL's Archives and Special Collections initiative, referencing the Bow Gamelan & Paul Burwell Archive. The paper will examine modes of activity with textile design (CSM), interior and spatial design (Chelsea), sound arts (LCC), interaction design communication (LCC) and fine art (University of Kent) academics and students to explore potentials across professional and teaching identities that challenge disciplinary boundaries.
