Business model design for the creative and cultural industries: enterprise education from the art school

  • Marcus O'Dair: Associate Dean, Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise, CCW
This paper concerns a current project, funded by Enterprise Educators UK, on the subject of business models. While enterprise education is sometimes understood as something done to the art school, the project comes from the art school in that it deploys visualisation, testing and iteration as core methodologies. As a result of the project, students are producing visualisations of business models as a general concept, in terms relevant to the art school context, and of the specific business models of recent graduates working as freelancers or founders within the cultural and creative industries.
