Object-based learning without the objects? Special Collections teaching in the COVID-19 era

Artists' books are frequently used in object based learning sessions taught by library staff at Chelsea. When COVID-19 caused the closure of college buildings in 2020, rather than abandon teaching these sessions, I considered how they might function in the online environment. This paper, incorporating my experiences of teaching and research undertaken as part of my self initiated PGCert project will look at how I identified suitable digital material to use in these sessions, how I delivered these sessions online, student feedback for them, and how this kind of teaching might work in the blended environment of the future.
