Intersectionality as a creative learning space

‘Intersectional being’ is central to the lived experiences of many staff and students at UAL. For art, design and performance practitioners there is almost an expectation to explore the self, their identities and their embodied experiences through their practice, yet, the data driven performance culture at UAL does not recognise nor interrogate the nuances of the ‘intersectional being’. Exploring differences and challenging conventions are core characteristics of creativity. How does this idea relate to the concept of intersectionality and the way in which we curate our learning spaces?
