Care and Control: creating a critical ecologies commons

The climate emergency is changing our relationship with and perception of what we conceive of as the natural world. Not only our environments, societies, and economies are affected by the global crisis, but also how we sense and make sense of our surroundings. Our current situation challenges our human-centric relations with the environment and raises tensions between polarities such as global and local, care and control, highlighting approaches ranging from eco-anxiety to eco-activism. We propose to sit with these tensions, not seek solutions and collect thoughts and understandings -in conversation- towards a critical ecologies commons, where diverse experiences can co-exist.
