Morning Introduction: Prof. Jayne McFadyen
Jane is Dean of Academic Strategy for Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon colleges.
She has 29 years experience of working in arts education and brings her practice as a jeweller to her user centred approach to student and staff experience. She has been at UAL since October 2017.
Her current role involves academic leadership in the enhancement of curriculum and in developing new models of learning and teaching through embedding interdisciplinary practices into all student experiences.
This builds on her award winning work leading 'Unit X" a cross course unit of study for all students at the Manchester School of Art where students work in collaboration with external partners on live projects.

The main site of influence for UAL's activity is ultimately via the student body. How do Teaching, Research and Knowledge Exchange feature in the lives of current and former UAL students? How does what we do at UAL influence and help shape the careers of our students? To start the day off with this in focus we have invited alumni to join us to discuss their journeys through UAL and beyond.

Richard Sant Richard and his team work with staff across UAL to support engagement with the Creative Attributes Framework and embed enterprise and employability within the curriculum. They work with College leads to support curriculum development, validation and revalidation to ensure courses offer high-quality employability and enterprise learning opportunities.
Afternoon Keynote: Prof. Dilys Williams
Dilys is the Founder and Director of Centre for Sustainable Fashion (CSF), and Professor of Fashion Design for Sustainability. A designer by education and profession, a researcher and fashion educator, her experience includes designing with Katharine Hamnett and for Liberty. Her research interests relate to sustainability through fashion's participatory and educational practices, her most important project being CSF itself. Dilys will be speaking at the Learning and Teaching Conference about the intersections of her work across Research, Teaching and Knowledge Exchange.
